Assign the permission set
To assign the Doc. Merge permission set to a user:
-
Choose the Search icon (Alt+Q), enter Users, and then choose the related link.
-
Select the user.
-
On the User Permission Sets FastTab, add a new line.
-
In the Permission Set field, enter Doc. Merge.
Tip For organizations with many users, consider assigning the permission set through a user group or security group instead of individually.
Minimum permissions for end users
End users who only need to view and adjust the document composition (but not configure rules) need at minimum:
-
Read and Modify access to the Doc. Merge Document List table (70679852).
-
Execute access to the Doc. Merge Management codeunit (70679850) and Doc. Merge Helper codeunit (70679860).
Note The standard Doc. Merge permission set grants full access. If you need a more restrictive permission set for end users, create a custom permission set based on the minimum requirements above.
