Ventoo Document Reader installieren

Ventoo Document Reader is available as an AppSource app for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. You can install the app directly through Microsoft AppSource or from within Business Central.

Prerequisites

Before installing, make sure that:

  • You are running Business Central version 28.1 or later.

  • You have the permissions required to install extensions (typically the EXTEN. MGT. - ADMIN permission set is required).

  • You have access to the Azure Function provided by Ventoo, including the function URL and function key (provided when your contract is set up).

Install from AppSource

  1. Go to Microsoft AppSource and search for Ventoo Document Reader.

  2. Select the app and choose Get it now.

  3. Sign in with your Business Central credentials.

  4. Select the environment where you want to install the app.

  5. Read and accept the terms of use.

  6. Choose Install.

Install from Business Central

  1. Choose the search icon (Alt+Q), enter Extension Marketplace, and choose the related link.

  2. Search for Ventoo Document Reader.

  3. Select the app and choose Install.

  4. Read and accept the terms of use.

  5. Wait for the installation to complete.

Note: Installation can take a few minutes. You can check the status on the Extension Management page.

After installation

After installing Ventoo Document Reader, you should:

  1. Assign permissions to users, or to the users of any dependent extension, who need access to the functionality.

  2. Perform the initial setup to configure the Azure Function connection.

Assign permissions

Ventoo Document Reader includes a permission set called Document Reader - All, which grants access to all related tables, pages, and codeunits.

To assign the permission set to a user:

  1. Choose the search icon (Alt+Q), enter Users, and choose the related link.

  2. Select the user you want to grant access to.

  3. On the User Permission Sets FastTab, add the permission set Document Reader - All.

Important: If Ventoo Document Reader is used through another extension (e.g. Ventoo BundM), the users of that extension also need the Document Reader - All permission set — even if they never open the setup page themselves. Without this permission, the programmatic call fails with a permission error as soon as it tries to read the setup data.

Tip: You can also assign the permission set through user groups or security groups to simplify administration for multiple users.
