Ersteinrichtung für den Ventoo Document Reader durchführen

The initial setup connects Business Central to the Azure Function operated by Ventoo. Without these steps, Ventoo Document Reader won't return any data — but that doesn't cause an error, only a silent "no match".

Open the setup page

Choose the search icon (Alt+Q), enter Document Reader Setup, and choose the related link.

The setup record is created automatically the first time the page is opened. No further manual preparation is needed.

Configure the Azure Function connection

On the setup page, enter the following:

Field

Description

Enabled

Turns Ventoo Document Reader on or off as a whole. Disabled by default.

Function URL

The HTTPS endpoint of the Azure Function that reads QR-bill data from a PDF. Provided to you by Ventoo.

Function Key

The key used to authenticate against the Azure Function. Displayed masked, and stored exclusively encrypted in Isolated Storage — not in a database table. Leave blank to keep an already-stored key unchanged.

Function Key Configured

Read-only field indicating whether a function key is currently stored.

Timeout (ms)

How long to wait for the Azure Function's response before giving up. Default 5000, minimum 1000, maximum 15000.

Tip: Request the function URL and function key from your Ventoo contact if you haven't already received them when your contract was set up.

Enable the connection

Only set the Enabled field once the function URL and function key are in place. If either field is empty, Ventoo Document Reader won't return any data, regardless of the Enabled status.

Note: There is no dedicated "Test connection" action on the setup page. The connection is verified implicitly the first time it's actually used, via a dependent extension (see Automatic payment data recognition).

Next steps

After completing the initial setup, you can:

  • Assign permissions to the users of the calling extension (see Install)

  • Read up on the basic concepts of reference validation and data flow

  • Test the connection in practice through a dependent extension such as Ventoo BundM
