The Enabled field on the Document Reader Setup page lets you temporarily switch Ventoo Document Reader off at any time, without losing the connection settings.
When to disable it

During planned maintenance of the Azure Function.

When the function URL or function key is being replaced and a clean transition is desired.

To narrow down an issue, when a dependent extension shows unexpected behavior and you want to test whether the cause lies with Ventoo Document Reader.
Behavior when disabled
If Enabled is not set, TryExtractFromAttachment immediately returns false for every call — without even contacting the Azure Function. For calling extensions, this is indistinguishable from a "no match" (see "No match" is not an error in Basic concepts).
Important: Disabling takes effect immediately for all dependent extensions and all users at once — there's no per-user or per-tenant fine-grained control.
To disable the app

Open the Document Reader Setup page.

Clear the checkbox in the Enabled field.
The connection settings (function URL, function key, timeout) remain unchanged.
To re-enable the app

Make sure the function URL and function key are still valid.

Select the checkbox in the Enabled field.
