What does Ventoo Address Validation do?
Ventoo Address Validation matches addresses in Business Central against the official address data of Swiss Post. For every address checked you get a clear result:
-
Is the address correct and deliverable?
-
Does Swiss Post suggest a correction or completion (e.g. correct spelling, missing house number, correct post code/city combination)?
-
Is the address not found or not unique?
Validation runs at several points in the process – from master-data maintenance to the physical invoice dispatch. For each point you decide whether it only shows a notification (recommended) or blocks the action.
Core principle: Addresses are validated as early as possible – where they can still be corrected. A hard block belongs at the end (posting), not at the beginning (master-data entry).

Country gating: The Swiss Post interface is only called for the countries CH, LI or for an empty country. All other addresses get the status Foreign (Not Checked) – without an API call.
Note on purchase documents: On the purchase side the Vendor and Order Address cards are validated today. Checks on purchase documents themselves and finance charge memos are intentionally not included yet.
